Michelle co-founded Generations Wealth Management (GWM) in 2009 following a 14-year banking career as Vice President with Wells Fargo’s Private Bank in Omaha, New York City and Des Moines. Prior to Wells Fargo, she spent eight years in corporate finance with GE Capital in Fort Myers, Florida, and Deutsche Bank North America in Chicago. Michelle earned a degree in finance from Iowa State University.

Michelle earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification and also holds the FINRA Series 6, 7 and 63 securities registrations (through Commonwealth Financial Network®). She also holds life, health and disability insurance licenses. Michelle’s overall objective is to ensure that a client’s entire balance sheet—from their bank deposits, investments, loans, insurance, and estate plan—is structured to meet their personal goals and objectives in a streamlined, tax-efficient manner.

As an active member in the community, Michelle has enjoyed being involved with the West Des Moines schools, St. Francis of Assisi parish, Financial Executive Women (FEW), the West Des Moines Library Friends Foundation, West Des Moines Human Services Friends Board, the Mercy Hospital Foundation summer gala and The Des Moines Civic Center. She’s also a past Chair of Iowa State University’s Women & Philanthropy Board.

Though Michelle worked out-of-state for 15 years after college, she and her husband are both native Iowans. They have two sons who are very involved in track and football at the high school and college level, and as such, they spend much of their time attending West Des Moines Valley High School, University of Notre Dame, and Princeton University sporting events. When not on the bleachers or enjoying the Des Moines community, they like to travel, with a favorite summer destination being Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri.
